Professional Prints

Why order prints from your professional photographer when you can print them yourself?

In the days of film photography, clients didn't expect to receive the actual negatives from their photographer. They received prints as their proofs and ordered larger prints from them. When the clients were viewing their printed proofs they were viewing the quality and colour of their photos and could expect to see the exact same result with their enlargements.

Before one-hour processing was available at various stores, and home printers, most people had no way to develop and print their own images, so having the negatives wasn’t really considered.

Now the expectations and desires of consumers have changed. Everyone wants to share their photos via social media, display them on their desktop, add them to their blog etc. Snapping a few hundred photos in order to get the perfect shot of your little one doing something extra cute is not even given a second thought.

Because of these technological changes, professional photography has altered along with the society.

Most clients these days want the digital negatives and printing rights to all their images so they can print their own images when and where they want to for a cheaper price.

But before you decide that just having the digital files from your professional photo session will be "good enough", PLEASE think about this:

Most people intend to have prints made of their digital files but often never get around to it and if they do they send their pictures off to be printed at a nearby convenient printing center or online because it is convenient, inexpensive and fast.

...but what about the quality?

The colors and contrast is off, the detail is lost, and the quality is definitely poor. There is no comparison.

The professional lab is always worth it for me as I can see my work displayed in the VERY best way possible.

I need to be ensured that what I can see on my computer screen after all the time I put into editing my images, is what I will get back when I print through my professional lab and is what my clients will see and display also.

With a professional photographer you don't have to worry about the process. I make sure everything is perfect and all you have to do is wait until I say your prints are ready. And I won’t until I approve them first. I want to know that the final product I hand over displays my photography at the highest quality possible.

So think about it. Why pay for a professional photographer and then display images or give images as gifts that aren’t professional quality.

Aren't those wonderful memories you just created with the photographer worth printing professionally?
